What Does W3C Stand for ?

        What Does W3C Stand for “The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Basically, they are people who develop guidelines, and tools for the Web. W3c was created in 1994 with the collaboration of European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).  

            The job of W3C is to make internet accessible to all users from all over the world, despite language, education, and culture difference. Some members of W3C are IBM, Apple, Microsoft, Sun Microsoftsystems, Adobe, and Macromedia.

            The most important duties of W3C is to develop Web specifications ( “Recommendations”) which regulate communication protocols of the Browser. Communication protocols are very important, because they are the building blocks of the Web.

            W3c recommendation is build by a group of experts. When W3c try to approve new recommendations, they have to go through the following process.

W3C Submissions: When W3c have new ideas for recommendation, they can submit a suggestion for a Web standard to consortium.

W3C Notes: New W3c submission will becomes a note which is a refined public document.

W3C Working Groups: After a Note is approved by W3C,  a Working Goup is formed to review working draft of W3c.

W3C Candidate Recommendations: A Candidate recommendation is a working process. The submission may be obsolete, updated, or replaced.

W3C  Recommendations: After W3C members has reviewed recommendations, W3C director will approve W3C. Then it can be used as reference material.
