New Innovation In Artificial Intelligence
| Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the science of making intelligent machines. The term was first used by John McCarthy, a prominent computer scientist from MIT. AI conventionally refers to the intelligent of computer programs. However, Artificial intelligence is not only limited to computer programs. It has many applications in various industries. For instance, Robocup project is a landmark of new innovation in artificial intelligence of this century. |

Robocup and FIRA is a well recognized popular challenge among AI researchers. The concept of autonomous robots that play soccer was first introduced in 1993, and the first international conferences and football game of Robocup was announced in 1995. Robocup is an international robotics competition. The goal of Robocup is to promote Artificial Intelligence research and education and improve autonomous robots. They also serve as a great opportunity to entertain the public. The ultimate objective of Robocup project is to develop autonomous robots that can beat world champion human team by 2050.
Robocup Soccer is categorized into the following league.
Simulation league: Player must develop Artificial Intelligent Program to play virtual soccer inside a computer.
Small-Size Robot League: The robots must not be bigger than 18 cm. Each team has up to five robots on the field.
Middle-Size Robot League: The robots must not be bigger than 50 cm. Four robots are allowed in the field.
Four-Legged Robot League: The team are composed of 4 four legged robots which play on 3 X 5 Metre field.
Humanoid League: The robots in this league are biped autonomous humanoid.
Programming a Robot to play soccer is not an easy task. Researcher must incorporate various technologies like sensor-fusion, multi-agent collaboration, real time reasoning, and strategy acquisition into their designs. There are many other applications to Robocup Technologies. For instance, autonomous robot can rescue large scale disaster and save live.
